Teaching for the Digital Age
Teaching for the Digital Age Advisory Group
Formed in 2008, the Teaching for the Digital Age (TDA) Advisory and Reference Groups have important roles in providing a coordinated and coherent approach to teacher professional development in the use of ICT in teaching and learning. The membership of the two groups provides expert cross jurisdictional and sectoral advice on teacher ICT professional learning activities supporting the Digital Education Revolution.

The TDA Advisory Group, with support from the TDA Reference Group, developed the ‘Teaching for the Digital Age Work Plan’ which was endorsed by AICTEC on 3 March 2009. This document will continue to evolve. The aims of the Work Plan are to identify, nationally, the areas for work to be undertaken by education authorities and the Australian Government, and the resources required which will support the professional requirements of teachers and education leaders to meet the demands of the Digital Education Revolution. The Work Plan also provides a coordinated and coherent national and local approach for professional learning in the inclusion of ICT into teaching and learning that builds on and extends existing Australian Government and state/territory programs for pre-service teachers, in-service teachers and leaders.
